My name is Randy Ewin and my experience at the Precision Shooting Course at Morgan Creek Ranch in Ben Wheeler, Texas, was absolutely outstanding. This was far more than just a day at the range—it was an opportunity to learn from an incredible instructor, challenge myself as a shooter, get back to fundamentals and spend time with a great group of gentlemen in an environment built around fellowship, camaraderie, and a shared passion for shooting.

The course was taught by Charlie Melton, a retired Navy SEAL Sniper and instructor, and I cannot say enough about the experience of learning from him. Charlie was extremely professional, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to every shooter on the range. He took the time to make sure everyone was properly zeroed in before moving into longer distances, and his instruction and attention to detail made a tremendous difference throughout the course.

What impressed me most was how involved Charlie was with every shot. As we progressed from 100 yards all the way out to 1,000 yards, he carefully observed, coached, and called shots to help each shooter understand what was happening and make the necessary adjustments. He did not just stand back and give general instruction—he was fully engaged in helping every person become a better shooter and experience the satisfaction of making successful hits at distances many of us had never attempted before.

There is something truly special about hearing the instruction, making the necessary corrections, controlling your breathing, squeezing the trigger, and then hearing that steel ring hundreds of yards away. To work your way from 100 yards out to 1,000 yards under Charlie's instruction was an incredible experience and one I will not soon forget.

The experience actually began the night before, when the Morgans once again showed why their hospitality is second to none. They put together an incredible presentation of food and created the perfect atmosphere for all of the gentlemen attending the course to relax, get acquainted, and enjoy some great fellowship. As anyone who has spent time at Morgan Creek Ranch knows, the Morgans have a special way of bringing people together. Great food, great conversations, plenty of laughs, and genuine fellowship made the evening just as memorable as the course itself.

As a military veteran, having the opportunity to shoot this range and learn from someone with Charlie Melton's background and experience was truly an honor. There is a level of professionalism, knowledge, and discipline that he brings to the range, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have learned from him.

I also want to thank the Morgan family for continuing to add unique experiences like this to everything Morgan Creek Ranch has to offer. They could have simply created another great shooting event, but instead, they put together a first-class experience—from the hospitality and fellowship to the quality of instruction on the exquisite range that they had built.

Morgan Creek Ranch continues to be a place where incredible experiences, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable memories are made. I am truly grateful to the Morgans for adding the Precision Shooting Course to their ranch activities and giving us the opportunity to train, learn, challenge ourselves, and enjoy time together.
